Obituary for
Arthur Bernard Muise
Muise, Arthur Bernard Sr. – 72, Truro. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dad, on July 8, 2019 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro with family by his side. Born in Fairview, Halifax, he was the son of the late Ernest and Mary Muise (MacCormick). Arthur is survived by his wife of 35 years, Barbara Muise (Kaulback); his children, Arthur Jr., Rodney (Anastasia), Annette (Dane), Michael (Sarah), Curtis, Leonard (Marie) and Troy; grandchildren, Melissa, Devin, Chelsey, Hannah, Andrea, Brooklyn, Corina, Fabian Jr., Sebastien, Colby, Austin, Alex, Haley and Madison; great grandchildren, Ethan, Peyton and Elijah. Arthur also leaves behind his brothers, Greg (Colleen), Robert, Alfred (Shirley), Norman (Darlene); sisters, Gail (David), Margaret, Bonnie (Keith), Deborah, Donna, Denise and Janet (Tony) as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Diane and Betty; brothers, David, Paul and Ernie and nephews, Terry and Barry. Arthur loved life which included the love of family, sharing hugs, talks and laughs. He also loved hunting and fishing with his long-time friends, Robert Hill, Roger Roode, Jim Millman, Rob Davis, Bill Corkum and in later years, with his boys. He loved playing darts and attending dances in the Debert Legion with his wife for many years and sitting down to chat with his friends. He was a long-time member of the Onslow-Belmont Fire Brigade. When he moved to Great Village, he became a member of the Great Village and District Fire Brigade where he was a Training Officer and Medical First Responder. He played on the fire brigade dart team and did the auctioneering at the yearly brigade auction until he retired as an honorary member. Anyone who knew him will remember his big bear hugs, his tormenting, and all the jokes he would tell and his laugh that was bigger than life. Arthur would always lend a listening ear to those who needed it. He worked as a forklift operator, mixing fertilizer for the C.I.L. Fertilizer Plant, which was later known as Truro Agromart Ltd. in Onslow. Visitation will be held Friday, July 12th from 6 – 8 p.m. beginning with a Fire Fighter Tribute Service. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. Interment will follow in Mahon Cemetery, Great Village. Special thanks to Dr. Neil Bower for coming to dad at home through his illness. Also, thank you to Dr. Henderson and the Palliative Care Team, VON and the nurses from Medical Day. In lieu of flowers, donations in Arthur’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, The Diabetes Association or a charity of choice.
