Passed away peacefully at Ruddy Shenkman with his family by his side. Beloved husband of nearly 60 years to Genoveffa. Loving father of Ottaviano (Sheila Hutchison), Maurizio (Pina) and Stefano (Laurie). Cherished Nonno of Alexondra, Nikolas, Bianca, Marissa, Michaela, Brianna and Luca. Dear Brother of Antonietta Padovan (late Guido), Anna Cocco (Gianni), Natalino Bernardi (Wanda), all of Ottawa, Gino Bernardi (Bruna) and Giorgio Bernardi (Daniela) all of Italy. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives survive in Canada and Italy. Sincere thank you to Dr. Gaudet, Rita from Emergency and the staff at the Ottawa Hospital, General Campus, as well as Ruddy Shenkman for their care and compassion. Visitation will be held at Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa, on Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 427 Booth Street (at Booth and Gladstone) on Friday, July 12, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Hospice Care Ottawa- Ruddy Shenkman Hospice.
