Anthony (Tony)’s Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Anthony Wells, also known as Tony and Skipper by family and friends, passed away at the St. Clare’s Hospital in St. John’s on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at the age of 81 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his children: Anne Gosse (Todd), Todd Wells (Nadine), and Garland Wells (Nokky); his grandsons who referred to him as Pop: Gregory Gosse (Christine), Christopher Gosse, Romeo Wells, Kaegan Wells, Branson Wells; his great grandsons who referred to him as Grand Poppy: Alexander Gosse and Eric Gosse; his siblings: Lewis Wells, Leona Hunt, Loretta Wells, Charles Wells, and all respected families; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Tony was predeceased by his parents: Edmund and Annie Wells; and his brother Arthur Wells. At Tony’s request, cremation has taken place. Visitation for family and friends will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Saturday, July 20, 2019 from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place at the St. Michael’s and All Angels Anglican Church, Park Drive on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at 2 pm with Rev. Roberta Woodman officiating. Interment to follow at the St. Mary’s Anglican Cemetery in Curling. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation or to a charity of one’s choice.
