Anitta Kesterke July 18 2019

On Thursday July 18, 2019 at the age of 70, Anitta Kesterke, wife of Daniel Baker and mother of Julianna Simmons, passed away and went to be with her Lord.
Anitta was born on March 30, 1949 to Bill and Helen (Gust) Kesterke of Minitonas, Manitoba. Anitta lived a life full of determination and joy in both Manitoba and Alberta. She married Jeremiah Simmons and resided in Edmonton, AB where together they had one child, Julianna. In 2007, Anitta and Julianna grieved the loss of Jeremiah as he went home to be with the Lord. Anitta worked for 25 years for the Government of Alberta before she retired. After her retirement, she met and married Daniel Baker and together they made a new beginning in Wetaskiwin, AB.
Anitta seemed to know almost everyone, and always found something to talk about. She cultivated and shared a love of music with her family and friends, and her smile would leave you with added brightness to your day.
Anitta’s memory is treasured by her husband Daniel, daughter Julianna, mother Helen, siblings Herman (Marilyn), Marilyn, Myrna, and Orville (Febe), nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, Daniel’s daughters Danel and Kristine, Daniel’s grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and survived by many loving family members and close friends.
Anitta was preceded by her father Bill, late-husband Jeremiah, brother-in-law Henry, and Daniel’s daughter Anne.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday July 27, 2019 at 1pm at the Church of God in Wetaskiwin with a light luncheon to follow.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
