Alice Evelyn
O’Leary – 92,
Brookfield, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, July 19, 2019,
at Elk Court, Brookfield. Born in Leminster, Hants County, she was a
daughter of the late William and Martha (Legge) Deal.
Alice is survived by her sons, George (Sharon), Birch Hill;
Hector (Judy), Brookfield; Robert (Erin), Truro; Charles (Beatrice)
Deal, Upper Rawdon; daughters, June (Ivan) Hoare, Wallace; Margaret
(Everett) Walters, Brookfield; Susan Sutherland, Grand Prairie,
Alberta; sister, Mary Saunders, Murray Siding; sister-in-law, Frances
Deal, Leminster; several grandchildren, great grandchildren,
great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband,
Archie; brothers, Harry Deal, Albert (Mercedes) Deal, Henry Deal;
step-sisters, Gertrude Leopold, Edna Leopold.
Special thanks are extended to the staff of East Cumberland
Lodge, Pugwash, and Elk Court, Brookfield, for your wonderful care; we
can’t thank you enough!
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall –
Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Alice’s
family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, July 25, 2019,
and funeral service 11 a.m., Friday, July 26, 2019, Reverend Michael
Henderson officiating. Interment in Brookfield Eastside Cemetery,
Carter Road, Brookfield. Reception will follow in the Seniors
Lounge at Don Henderson Memorial Sportsplex, 55 Carter Road,
Brookfield. If so desired, donations in Alice’s memory to a
charity of choice are welcomed. Private messages of condolence may be
