Obituary for
Albert “Al” Coast
With sadness this family announces the passing on July 16, 2019, of Albert Coast, of Whitecourt, AB, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Al is survived by the love of his life, wife of 44 years and best “Buddy”, Wanda (nee Todd); his dearly loved daughters, Erin (Dwayne Ethier) Coast and Lesley (Marco Mazerolle) Coast; cherished and loved granddaughters, Olivia and Sophia; mother, Elizabeth Coast (nee Hummel); brother, John (Dianna) Branderhorst, sister, Theckla (Calvin) Sawicki; dear sister-in-law, Jeannette Feland; and brothers-in-law, Darrell (Sandy) Todd and Gary (Jolien) Todd. Al will be deeply missed by his nephews, nieces, and many friends.
He was predeceased by his father, Ronald Coast.
Al enjoyed a 37 year career as a logging supervisor with West Fraser in Blue Ridge, AB. He will be greatly missed for his sense of humor, quick come-backs, and his love for his family.
Thank you to the doctors and staff of the Barrhead Community Cancer Centre and the Cross Cancer Institute (Edmonton), for the compassionate care shown to Al and the family.
Respecting Al’s wishes, a private Celebration of Life will be held. Inurnment in Whitecourt Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation – Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Avenue, Edmonton, AB T6G 1Z2.
