Peacefully surrounded by his family on February 2, 2019 at St. Peter’s Residence at Chedoke, George Jones passed away in his 91st year. Beloved husband of the late Laura Jeanne Jones (nee Ratz). Loving father of the late Baby Barbara (1954), Kevin (Terry), Peter (Pierrette), Laurie Tirone (Tony). Dear Grandpa of Scott, Katie (Joey), Megan, Marc (Kaylyn), and Rachel Sullivan (Sean). Dear brother of Ray (Pat), and brother-in-law of Bob (JoAnn). Survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Stew (Mary). George was a retired employee of Stelco and was on the Board of Directors at Stelco, Avestel, and First Ontario Credit Unions. He was also a long time parishioner of Burkholder United Church. A special thank you to the staff of St. Peter’s Residence at Chedoke for the care and compassion shown to our Dad during his stay. At the family’s request, cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date. Donations to St. Peter’s Residence at Chedoke or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
