Alexander Suetta July 3 2019

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Alexander “Alex” Suetta, our dear dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend. Alex passed away suddenly in his home workshop in Prince Albert on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at the age of ninety.
Alex was born September 11, 1928 in Prince Albert, the eldest of ten siblings, and grew up on his parent’s homestead in Deer Ridge, Saskatchewan. The family moved to Prince Albert in late 1942. The following year, he started working at the Prince Albert Manufacturing Company and stayed there until it shut down in 1973. Alex then worked in the maintenance shop of the Prince Albert Public School Division until his retirement in 1992. Alex was a certified locksmith, journeyman carpenter, boiler operator, small engine repair man, and plus many other interests such as fishing and fine art painting.
Alex married Mary Plaschewsky in 1951, and they raised two children in Prince Albert and at the family cabin at Emma Lake where they spent much time. Alex was always building or fixing something. Over the years he constructed an addition to the cabin, an addition and basement for his house, and a garage. He also helped relatives, friends, and neighbours with their projects.
Alex is survived by his two children: Brian (Joanne) of Christopher Lake, SK, and Karen Carle (Bryan Brotzel), of Prince Albert, SK; grandchildren: Jonathan (Roberta) Suetta of Prince Albert, Jennifer (Trevor) Pippin of Saskatoon, Brandy (Edward) Suetta of Edmonton, Jeffrey Carle of Prince Albert, and Jessica (Dan) Mason of Moose Jaw; great grandchildren: Rhea Mair, Alex Suetta, Keaton Falconer, and Matthew Suetta; his special sweetheart Edith Pocha and her children Lori, Delores, and Todd; his brothers Frank (Karolyn) and Allan (Joanne); sisters Olga Billingsley, Sarah (Joe) Rebrinsky, Mary (Joe) Plaschewsky, Irene Suetta, and Helen (Jerry) Davis; sister-in-law Jeanette (Tom) Lehner; and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Alex was predeceased by his dearest wife of 54 years, Mary: his father and mother: Sandor “Alexander” and Anne (Smajda) Suetta; father-in-law and mother in-law: Harry and Helen (Kutzak) Plaschewsky; brother: Albert (Frieda); sister: Margo (Mac) Macdonald; sister-in-law: Beryl Suetta; and brothers-in-law: Stanley (Joyce) Plaschewsky, and Lorne Billingsley; and special friend Ann Albright.
The world has lost a kind-hearted, wonderful man who helped everyone and anyone; who loved his family and was so happy to spend time with them. He will be missed by all who knew him, and in his words, we don’t say goodbye, we say “bye for now.”
Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Plaza 88, 888 Central Avenue, Prince Albert with Delores Beaulac as Celebrant. In lieu of other tributes, donations in memory of Alex may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Unit 26, 1738 Quebec Avenue, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 1V9, or the Herb Bassett Home, 1200 24th St. W, Prince Albert, SK, S6V 4B2.
