Obituary of Marie Halliday
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister and aunt Edna Marie (Fraser) Halliday, of Westville, Nova Scotia on Monday, July 1st, 2019.
Marie was born in Watervale, Nova Scotia on March 26th, 1929 to Lavilla and John I. Fraser. Marie graduated from Normal College in Truro and taught school in West River Station and Millbrook. She was a long-time member of the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Westville and was also a member of their Auxiliary for many years.
Marie is survived by her brother Earl (Shirley) Moncton, nieces Elva Lauchlan, Westville, Donna Bourque, Westville, Earlene (Charlie) Kehoe, Westville, Laura Staples, Moncton, Karen (Ryan) Stevenson Oromocto, Denise Fraser, Hopewell and nephews John (Judy) Fraser of Union Centre and Kevin Fraser, New Glasgow as well as many great nieces and nephews.
Marie is predeceased by her loving husband of 47 years, Alexander Halliday, parents Lavilla (Fraser) and John I. Fraser, brother Lawrence Fraser and brother Donald Fraser.
The family are forever grateful for the loving care and attention given to her by her best friend and nephew Charlie. A special thank you to her wonderful caregiver of many years, Kathy Arbuckle. We would also like to thank the VON and Homecare Services for the wonderful care given to Marie.
Marie is resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting on Friday, July 5th, from 11 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Her funeral service will be held 1 o’clock Friday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Rev. Bonnie Langille officiating. Interment in the Gairloch cemetery. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to a charity of your choice.
