William “Bill” West
William
“Bill” West, 91, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The
Dr. Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital Centre on Saturday, June 29,
2019.
Born in
Welland, ON, he was the son of the late William and Ethel (Jones)
West.
Bill had a
35 year career at the Dorchester Penitentiary. He enjoyed hunting,
fishing and time spent at his cottage on Grand Lake. In his younger
years, he enjoyed snowmobiling and he was an avid bowler most of his
adult life.
Bill will be
sadly missed by his sister, Lavinia Law; sons, Gary (Winnie) and
Gordon (Louise) and his daughters, Carol Miki (David) and Nancy
Gautreau (Norman); stepson, Paul McAllister (Cheryl); stepdaughters,
Joanne Bergman (Alan), Karen Lays (Joe) and Susan Whiteway (Brent);
several grandchildren and great
grandchildren.
In addition
to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Evelyn (Coates)
West and second wife, Phyllis (McAllister) West; brother Donnie and
sisters, Beverly, Velma and
Mildred.
In keeping
with Bill’s wishes, there will be no visitation hours or
funeral service. Public graveside service will be held at Fair Haven
Memorial Gardens on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 11:00 am. A reception
will follow in the Fergusons Funeral Home Reception Centre, 1657
Mountain Road, Moncton
(858-1995).
