Obituary of Ruth Elizabeth Haskell
Haskell, Ruth Elizabeth (nee Kendall)
Ruth Elizabeth Haskell passed away peacefully on July 24, 2019.
She was born on February 15, 1937 in Chatham to the late Charles & Kitty (nee Harriott) Kendall.
Beloved wife of Bill and loving mother of three daughters; Heather and her husband Ken Poole, Stephanie Haskell, Valerie Haskell and her husband Christopher Parker; dear Grandma Ruth to Andrew Poole, Hillary and her husband Ryan Jacques and Aiden Poole; step-grandmother to Jaimie and Jordan Parker. Her great-grandson Everett Jacques brought her much joy. She was loved and will be missed by her family and dear friends.
As a young woman, Ruth was an executive Secretary at Union Gas. She was a talented artist and gardener.
Ruth and her family are thankful for the many health care professionals who have shown such kindness, especially Dr. Verburg for his many years of excellent care, Dr. Lenehan, Laurie Badder RN at the Erie St. Clair LHIN, and Aileen RN at Bayshore HealthCare. We are forever grateful for the compassionate and expert care Ruth received from Dr. Melissa Johnson and the nurses in the oncology/chemotherapy department at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. You had a special place in her heart. Thank you to the kind staff, volunteers, and Dr. Watterud at Chatham-Kent Hospice for providing peace and comfort.
Ruth’s family will be honoring her life privately.
