Passed away suddenly at James Paton Memorial Health Centre, Gander, NL on Saturday, July 20, 2019, the late Rose Margaret Ella Canning, age 64 years, of Valley Pond, NL.
She is predeceased by her parents Dorman & Mildred Rideout.
In September 26, 1975, Rose married Edward Canning of Bridgeport. Together they settled in Valley Pond and created a loving home for their son Bradley and daughter Jennifer. Rose was an amazing wife and mother.
Rose and Edward were called into service by God and were commissioned as Salvation Army officers in 2001. It was then that Rose’s passion for people was seen. She served others selflessly and gave generously of her heart and life to those to whom she ministered.
Rose will be lovingly and fondly remembered for her warm and winsome presence. When family and friends came to visit they were received with a smile and a hug. Rose practiced the gift of hospitality by welcoming others into her heart & home, where there was always a table set with wonderful NL delicacies, the finest of which was her home-baked bread. It tasted delicious not because of the flour and water, but because of the love baked into each loaf.
Rose’s life touched countless others and she will forever be missed.
As she has been welcomed into her heavenly home, she leaves to mourn: loving husband Edward, son Bradley & wife Lisa, daughter Jennifer & husband Shane, granddaughters Lucy & Kate who were the joy of her life, mother-in-law Ethel Canning, brother Ken (Phyllis), sisters Velma (Reg), Ruby, Bev (Kevin), Lorraine (Dionne) as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Visitation and funeral details to follow.
Donations in Rose’s memory may be given to the Clarence Wiseman Central Salvation Army Cemetery Fund, Moreton’s Hr., NL.
