Andrew Scarrow, better known as Andy, passed away in Spirit River on November 1, 2018 at the age of 86. He was born October 16, 1932 in Arcola, Saskatchewan to Isaac and Caroline Scarrow, one of eighteen siblings.
Andy was a grain farmer in Silver Valley, Alberta and worked in the oil patch for many years. He enjoyed boxing and rodeo events, participating when he was younger, and also played floor curling in later years. He was well known for his portrayal of Santa at the Savanna School, and looked forward to that every year.
Andy married Jean Valentine in 1955, and they were married for 63 years until his passing. He is survived by Jean, and their three children Barbara (Glen) Hourd, Ivy Scarrow, and Reno Scarrow, seven grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. He was the last surviving of his siblings.
Andy was cremated, and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 2:00pm at the Silver Valley Hall in Silver Valley, Alberta.
