Rosemarie Poeplau
With much sadness we announce the passing of our dear mother, sister, and friend in the early morning hours of July 13, 2019 at St. Vincent’s Nursing Home, Halifax, at age 82. Rosemarie immigrated from Germany in 1964 and started her new life in Montreal, Que, where she married and raised a family. In the late 1970, she moved to Nova Scotia with her daughter, Erika, to pursue a new career. She embraced life as a joyful and helpful person, enjoyed music, walks at the beach, and sang with the Grace United Church choir for several years. She is survived by daughter Erika Leal (Hfx), sisters Brigitte, Dorothee, Edeltraud, Christa, Barbara, Walburga, and brother Alfons, and numerous relatives and friends in Germany, Switzerland, Australia, and Canada. The family greatly appreciates and thanks all the staff at St. Vincent’s Nursing Home for their generous love and care they gave to Rosemarie.
A burial service will be held on Thursday, July 18 at 10 am at Mt. Hermon Cemetery (Victoria Rd, Dartmouth). Donations may be made to Grace United Church, SVNH, or a charity of your choice. No visitations.
