Daniel Todd Dewitt
Dewitt, Daniel Todd – After a brief brave battle with Cancer, in his 49th year, Dan passed away suddenly on Wednesday July 3rd, 2019, at the Welland County General Hospital. He was born on February 28th, 1970 in Welland.
He was predeceased by his father Floyd Dewitt.
He will be lovingly remembered by his 17-year-old son Eric, his mother Rose Dewitt, his sister Beverly and husband Bill Gearhart, sister Donna and husband Brian Jacobsen, sister Susan Dewitt and brother Don Dewitt, all from Welland. Lovingly remembered by nieces, Cari Ann Matthews and Dayna Meehan, Taylor Jacobsen, Nicky Paquette, nephews Gerry Matthews, Tyler Meehan, Randy Meehan and Anthony Patriquin. He will also be lovingly remembered by many great nieces and great nephews and a special girl, Alexa Sutton, whom Dan loved like his own daughter. He will also be sadly missed by many friends.
Dan had a love for music, playing guitar, listening to his favorite band Kiss. He toured with the bands Saga and Blue Rodeo as a roadie. He enjoyed reading, fishing, camping, taking care of his 4 cats and spending time with his son, family and friends.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a service to celebrate Dan’s life at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Saturday, July 13th at 2 pm. Visitation will be held from 12 pm until time of service at 2 pm in the Cudney Chapel. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
