It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend, John Tkachuk, on July 11, 2019 at the age of 71.
John was predeceased by his parents Nicholas (1980) and Doris (nee Wynychuk, 1990) and sister Marion Moodie (2017). He is survived by his wife, Janet of Gladstone; sister Sophie Plazio of Roseau River; sons Allan (Lynne) and Chad (Arlene) of Labroquerie; step children Kerry Kushner (Angie) and Debbie Kushner (Jacques) of Portage; twelve grandchildren, Jessica, Amber, Kayla (Brent), Alyssa, Zachary, Brayden, Brian, and Andrew of Labroquerie and Cody, Haley, Brooke and Avery of Portage; one great grandson Stephen; niece Katherine Moodie-Mobbs (Bart) and nephew John Jr. Moodie and their children of Campbellford, Ont, as well as his dear friend Dan Martins (Savanah) and family of Teulon.
John enjoyed the simpler things in life, such as watching a squirrel in their front window and fishing and hunting in his younger years. He enjoyed helping others. Even though he had many health issues, he and Janet took time to think of others be organizing meals to develop community in the complex where they lived. He also liked coming to help his sister Sophie when he was able to.
John fought a long fight with many health issues and showed strength and courage right to the end.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of John Tkachuk May 8 1948 July 11 2019 (age 71)..
