Obituary of Christina Theresia Scholtes
With great sadness we announce the passing of Christina Scholtes at St. Joseph’s Hospice of London on Wednesday, July 10th, 2019 in her 92nd year. Loving wife to the late Johannes “John” Scholtes (2017). Beloved mother of Jane & Bruce McDonald of Guelph, Cathy & Dave Orr of Point Edward, Rob & Cheryl Scholtes of London and the late John H. Scholtes (1985). Dear Oma of Scott McDonald & Myra Fair, Sarah & Chris Pritchard, Rob & Kimberly McDonald, Christina Orr, Tom Orr & Cindy Hunt, David & Jennifer Orr, Amanda Orr & Daniel Charlton, Don Scholtes, Theresia & Alex Wolfe, Peter Scholtes, Adriana Scholtes, Christina Scholtes and 11 great-grandchildren. Survived by her 4 sisters-in-laws and many nieces & nephews in Canada, Holland, England and Australia. Predeceased by 8 sisters and 2 brothers. Special friend to Maria Kuipers, Dorothy Lewis, Jessie Butler and Marcie Tyler.
Christina was a dedicated wife, mother, oma and volunteer. For 25 years Christina managed SDCI Cafeteria where she enjoyed interacting with staff & students. She was active in the All Saints Parish community and enjoyed her last 5 years at Trillium Village where she met many new friends. She enjoyed socializing at the various card games in the Strathroy and Mount Brydges area.
Friends and family will be received at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on Sunday, July 14th, 2019 from 2-5pm. Prayers will be held at 5:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at All Saints Roman Catholic Church Monday, July 15th at 11:00am. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery.
