Phillips, Sophia Knight – Age 2
months of We’koqma’q First Nation. It is with
heavy hearts and much sadness that we announce the passing of our
Little Angel Sophia Knight Phillips in the Victoria County Memorial
Hospital, Baddeck, surrounded by family on Saturday, June 1, 2019.
Sophia was born in Antigonish on March 8, 2019 she was a daughter of
David Phillips and Brenda Ann Googoo.
Besides her parents; Sophia leaves to mourn her passing her
brothers, Sean Googoo and Jedidiah Phillips; both at home; paternal
grandparents, Christine and Roderick Googoo, Eskasoni; maternal
grandfather, Charles Michael “Mickey” Googoo,
We’koqma’q; Maternal great-grandmother, Pearl
Googoo, We’koqma’q; Sophia’s godparents,
Andrea “Poopsie” Paul and Jesse Googoo,
We’koqma’q. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins,
too many to name.
She was predeceased by her sister, Jontay Noelle; her
paternal grandfather, Alfred Simon; maternal grandmother, Barbara
“Mickey” Googoo; maternal great-grandfather, Gabriel Googoo;
maternal great-grandparents, Joe Levi and Rhoda Sylliboy; paternal
great-grandparents, Joe Noel and Mary Ellen Phillips; aunt, Mellissa
Dawn.
Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Friday, June 7 in the Multi
Purpose Building, 160 Reservation Rd., We’koqma’q
First Nation. Funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 8 from
Blessed Kateri Parish Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Waycobah
with Father Conrad Edwards and Deacon Berkley Guthro officiating.
Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. There will be no
Salite.
