Obituary of Shirley Ward
WARD, Shirley – passed away at the Palliative Care Unit, Marianhill, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the age of 76 years.
Shirley Ward (nee Brownell) of Pembroke, wife of 53 years to the late Everett “Newfie” Ward. Left behind to share her memories are their four children, Julie Reynolds (Donald), Acme AB; Eugene Ward (Lisa), Pembroke; Karen Ward, Lethbridge AB; and Janet Cloutier (Dave), Arnprior. Loving Nannie to Courtney Stalwick (Cris), Joshua Ward, Nicholas Reynolds, Stuart Reynolds, Robert Ward (Anick), Ryan Ward (Bree), and Kayla Cloutier. Great-Nanny to Seth, Brody & Linkin Stalwick, Arzlan Reynolds and Kye Ward. Daughter of the late Gerald and Bina Brownell (nee Brander); and sister of Gordon Brownell (Penny). Survived by favourite cousins Elaine, Marie, and Edith; special brother- and sister-in-law Alfred and Linda; as well as nieces, nephews, brothers & sisters-in-law and cousins.
Respecting Shirley’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at Eugene Ward’s home, 1086 Bronx St., Pembroke, on Friday, June 28, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. into the evening hours. You are welcome to join in sharing Shirley’s famous dishes at a hot meal being served at 5:00 p.m. Interment of ashes at Hillside Cemetery, Nova Scotia at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Marianhill Palliative Care Unit; Hillside Cemetery Fund, Nova Scotia; or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
