DEVEAU, Regina Marie – Age 84, of Bedford, formerly of Salmon River. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Regina Marie (Boudreau) Deveau on March 1, 2019 in the QE2 Infirmary Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The beloved wife, mother, aunt and friend was born October 17, 1934 in Cap Sainte-Marie, to the late Joseph and Amanda (Comeau) Boudreau. Regina spent her childhood playing on Mavillette Beach with her family and friends until she moved to Truro to begin her career at Cockshutt Equipment and created many memories with great friends during that time. During her 62 year marriage to her beloved Antoine, they enjoyed many hobbies such as travelling, square dancing and ballroom dancing. Regina had an exciting career working in various positions including with the United States Military doing payroll in Argentia, NL in the late 1950’s, and later working as Executive Assistant to David Hall at Group Marketing in Yarmouth and dedicating 25 years of her life to helping others through public service as the Executive Assistant to Coline Campbell, MP and later to Harry Verran, MP. Many a long night was spent assisting the public in the riding with fishery matters, pension issues and completing forms and advocating for people who needed help with government services. She enjoyed participating in political rallies, leadership and election campaigns. Regina loved helping others in her community of Clare and did her best to make it a better place to live and work. She instilled these values of hard work and a sense of pride in her community in her sons, Roland and Dale. In the last year of her life, Regina enjoyed living with her husband Antoine at the Berkeley in Bedford making many friends and attending the many activities, including Gloria Haskett’s cooking group, the book club, parties and other activities. Regina is survived by her husband Antoine; sons Roland (Jacqueline) and Dale (Mireille). She is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Amanda (Comeau) Boudreau, sister Antoinette; brothers Stanislas and Hubert. Regina will be dearly missed by those who knew her including her brother in law Gerald Leblanc, sisters in law Dorothy Boudreau and Carol Boudreau and many nieces, nephews and cousins across Canada and the United States. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at the Berkeley in Bedford for providing such a comfortable and enjoyable environment to live in and to the staff at the QE2 Infirmary ICU Unit 5.2 for your care and support during her final days. Arrangements are under the care of Meteghan Funeral Home, 8348 Hwy 1, Meteghan, NS B0W 2J0. There will be no visitation as per Regina’s request.
