It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Petra Schmidt, of Edmonton on May 31, 2019, at the age of 57. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter and friend.
She will be lovingly remembered by her sons: Moritz (Torie) and Felix (Lexi); her daughter, Ann-Cathrine (Kirk) Barker; her grandchildren: Keaton and Gavin Barker and Quinn Schmidt; and her partner of 6 years, Duane de Guerre.
Petra was born in Emden, Germany. She moved to Canada in 1997 with her family, originally residing in Williams Lake, British Columbia and then permanently living in St. Albert, Alberta. She devoted her life to being a loving mother and friend.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 7, 2019 at Connelly-McKinley, St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert, Alberta.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to Dr. Joy at the Cross Cancer Institute, Dr. Sharma and Dr. Rao at Deansgate Medical Clinic. Your caring and support for Petra will always be remembered.
