Cinnamon, Lillian
Lillian Cinnamon, 91, of Ottawa, passed away June 19, 2019, with her family by her side. She was the youngest born to Christina and John Curry of Kenmore, Ontario. Lillian married the love of her life Orville Cinnamon in 1946. They raised their family of five on a dairy farm in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. Lillian and Orville moved back to the Ottawa area in the early 70’s where they lived the remainder of their lives together until 2002 when Orville passed away. Lillian was active in her community, serving as Leader and Camp Director of CGIT, President of the UCW, Choir Leader and founding member of the community’s World Vision group. Lillian also donated many hand-made afghans to care homes and friends at City View. Lillian was adored by her children, Larry (Joyce), Ruth (Lynn deceased), Dennis, Sheryl and Jeffrey (deceased) and grandchildren, Christie (John) and Scott (Candice) and great grandsons Druhan and Michael. “Family gatherings won’t be the same without you Mom”. She is survived by her sister Tilly, who will miss their daily phone calls. She will also be missed by many friends, nieces and nephews. Lillian is predeceased by siblings Hubert, Muriel and Lula. In accordance with Mom’s wishes there will be a private graveside gathering for the immediate family to say goodbye. One of her last comments to us was, “I’m going dancing tonight with Dad”. Mom’s faith kept her strong and positive to the end. She frequently expressed gratitude for having had such a wonderful life. Thank you to the staff at the Queensway Carleton Hospital and City View Retirement for taking such good care of our Mom. Donations to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or World Vision would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
