Kevin Randy O’Dell
May 4, 1970 – June 23, 2019
The passing of Kevin Randy O’Dell of Marysville, NB occurred on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 4, 1970 he was the son of Hilda (Dan) Gillis and Bruce (Bev) Hunter.
Kevin (Bush) O’Dell was known as the “cool bus” driver. He was often found giving his iconic smile and wave from the big red bus. Kevin loved watching Nicholas play baseball, Jake play football and Makenna dedicating her time to children with disabilities – he was such a proud father. Kevin enjoyed his Thursday night card games with “the boys” and especially Thanksgiving weekend at the annual Dungarvon ruffled grouse hunt, which he currently holds the record of nine birds. He also loved spending time at the camp with Erica, Cooper and friends. Kevin looked forward to church every Sunday at Marysville Baptist Church and enjoyed Born: May 4, 1970 fishing the Bartholomew River on his side by side with Zeke. Kevin was a loving Death: June 23, 2019 man that would do anything for anyone, was very proud of his children and loved every kid at the Preschool Centre as if they were his own. He will be deeply missed by everyone that had the pleasure to know him.
Besides his parents, Kevin is survived by his wife, Erica McKay; children, Makenna O’Dell, Nicholas O’Dell and Jake McKay; sister, Kim (Steven) Ellis; brothers Jason and Richard Hunter; Nieces and Nephews, Jayden and Kelly Ellis and Alissa Hunter along with several cousins, aunts, uncles nieces, nephews and dad’s boy, Cooper.
Kevin is predeceased by his father, Darryl O’Dell; sister, Kelly O’Dell; grandparents; uncle, Randy O’Dell; aunts Cheryl Richard and Dianne Leard and dogs, Mack and Maggie.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 from
10am – 12pm followed by a Funeral Service held at Marysville Baptist Church at 3 pm with Rev. Jason Hinsdale officiating. Pallbearers will be; Marty Fowler, Jeff Brown, Dave Pond, Terry Pond, Gilles Savoie, Kevin Spencer, Mark Bradford and Todd Brown. Honorary pallbearers are Gerald (Zeke) Everette and Cooper. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to The Preschool Centre or the Fredericton SPCA.
