John D Swain 19412019

John D. Swain
1941-2019
John Duncanson
Swain, age 78, of Bridgewater, NS, passed away peacefully on the
morning of June 14, 2019. He was born on January 4, 1941 in Liverpool,
NS and was predeceased by parents Frances and John Swain of Port
Mouton, NS.
John is
lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Patricia Swain (nee
Cuming), sons Eric (Jolyn), Halifax and Christopher (Corinne),
Bridgewater. John will also be remembered by his brother Robert Swain
(Louise) of Port Mouton and two grandsons whom he adored, Samuel and
Malcolm Swain of Halifax.
John loved the
game of golf (generally using only 3 clubs), all types of music and
good conversation with keen wit. There hasn’t been a person
that has come forward since his passing that hasn’t said he
made them smile and laugh. In true John fashion he has requested that
there be no formal service. Cremation has taken place under the
direction of the R.A. Corkum Funeral Home,
Wileville.
John would
want no sorrow from his passing and would be annoyed at how long this
notice is already. He will be so disappointed if his remains go in
anything other than a Tim Horton’s coffee can. He would want
his family and friends to remember a laugh or conversation that were
shared together.
The family
would like to thank Dr. Timothy Riding and the staff of the South
Shore Regional Hospital for their care and kindness. Memorial
donations in memory of John can be made to South Shore Regional
Hospital or by supporting a local musician or school band programme.
