Obituary of Johann Gimpel
GIMPEL: Johann (John)
It is with great sadness that we report the passing of John Gimpel on May 29th 2019 in his 87th year. John lived in Sault Ste Marie for 57 years but was living in the past 8 months as a resident of Harbour Hill retirement home in Goderich. John was predeceased by his wife Anna Gimpel of 64 years. John was lovingly supported by his 4 children in his final days at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital in Goderich.
He is survived by his daughter Monika Hilton, husband Glen, grandchildren, Denis (Tracy), Stacey (Pat), and Andrew (Lindsay), great grandchildren, Erron, Avery, Anna, Maya, and Savanna, daughter Maria Young, husband Greg, grandchildren Corey (Holly)and Janna (James) and great grandchildren Lucas, Brooklyn, Parker, Gavin and Kaitlyn, daughter Anna Gimpel Morrison (Erwin), grandchildren, Kurtis (Veronica), Kyla (Adam) and Dana, son John Gimpel Jr, (Namita and children Sammy and Jake), grandchildren Jerika and Emily.
John faced his death with acceptance and humour and was looking forward to reuniting with his wife. He has been an inspiration in life and in death and will be greatly missed.
