Obituary of James Bernard Durling
Durling, James Bernard – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Bernard Durling on June 17, 2019 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Springfield, he was a son of the late Lloyd and Dorothy Durling. He is survived by cherished wife, Betty (Acker); sons, Gary Durling, Simpson’s Corner; Jamie (Elaine) Durling, Union Square; daughters, Sandra (Fred) Martin, Denton, Texas; Sharon Durling, Chester Basin. James was adored by grandchildren, Kayla, Jordan, Decklan and Morgan. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by son, Randall; brothers, Russell, Charles and Lawrence in infancy; sister, Frances.
James spent some time as a pilot in the RCAF before taking up carpentry where he made a name for himself for his expertise. The family wants to sincerely thank the nurses and staff at South Shore Regional Hospital, especially Dr. Diane Edmonds, for all their care.
A visitation will take place from 1-3 p.m., Sunday, June 23 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 Hwy, 10, New Germany. Private family interment to follow in Falkland Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
