Helen Janey Matchett
Helen J.
Matchett, 93, of K. E. Spencer Memorial Home, and formerly of Echo
Drive, Moncton, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday,
June 13, 2019.
Born in
Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen
“Ella” (Somers)
Horsman.
Helen was a
loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and a member of
Highfield Baptist Church. Before her marriage, she was employed with
The T. Eaton Co. Ltd. Helen was a fantastic cook and enjoyed going to
the shore and on Sunday drives with her late husband,
Sterling.
Helen will
be sadly missed by her sons, Ronald, Gregory and Glen (Marilyn);
grandchildren, Matthew (Cheryl), Trevor, Sean, Caitlyn, Zachary and
Moriah; great grandson, Soren; special nephew, Bill Horsman and his
family and daughter-in-law, Linda Mason; as well as several nieces,
nephews, grand nieces and grand
nephews.
In addition
to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Sterling Matchett
(2018).
Special
thanks to Spencer Nursing Home for their care and kindness over the
past few years, and to The Moncton Hospital staff for their support
while she was a patient. Also, to Pastor Gary Barr and Rev. Rob
Salloum for their many visits and
support.
Resting at
Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on
Friday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. A Service to celebrate and honour
Helen’s life will be held from Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel
on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 11:00 am, with Pastor Gary Barr and Rev.
Rob Salloum officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception
Centre following the service. Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial
Gardens.
In lieu of
flowers, donations in memory of Helen to the Friends of The Moncton
