Passed away after a fiercely defiant, 3 month battle with cancer at The St. Joseph’s Health Care Centre in Guelph at the age of 76. She leaves behind her devoted husband Wayne (Robbie) of 60 years as well as their children Anne (Bob), Colin (Kelly), Lisa (Gary) and Christina (Jon). Also missing Cathy will be her 12 adoring grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Jeannie Smith and in-laws Mary, John, Loretta, Georgina and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Walter and Marian Henderson, brother Jimmy Henderson and by in-laws Karen and Craig. Cathy’s greatest gift to her friends and loved ones was her humour. Right to the very end, she made her family and friends laugh! Cathy enjoyed watching sports and was a big fan of The Montreal Canadians and The New England Patriots (#1 fan of Tom Brady). There will be a funeral mass at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 760 St. David Street North, Fergus on Thursday June 20th at 10:30am, followed by reception and eventual burial at St. Mary’s-St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Elora. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to The Graham Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David Street South, Fergus.
