Angela Angie Shehinski 2019

Obituary for
Angela “Angie” Shehinski
Angela (Angie) Shehinski passed away during the early morning of Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the age of 95 years. Angela was born near Holden, AB and moved to Edmonton as a teenager. She lived for decades at the Angelus Apartments in downtown Edmonton, where she enjoyed tending the garden – especially the beautiful peonies. The other residents of her building were always welcome to drop by her suite for a visit, a cup of tea, or a cigarette. She worked in the restaurant of the historic and lively King Edward Hotel for many years during its heyday, and later in life she liked to tell stories about the fabulous people who used to gather there. Angie had a kind and open heart and wished the best for everyone.
Angie will be greatly missed by her sister, Emilia; relatives including Darlene, Anastasia, James and Annette; and her friends, Carlos and Judy. Predeceased by her parents, Theodore and Anna (who baked amazing bread); her siblings, Harry, John, Paul, Nadia, Katherine, Marie and Pearl; and her best friend, also named “Angie”.
Angie’s family would like to thank the people at AHS Home Care and the Edmonton General Hospital who do their best – often with limited resources – to improve the quality of life of the elderly.
Funeral Service Tuesday, July 2 at 1:30 p.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue, Edmonton with interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please take the time to relax in your garden and spend time with your family.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Angela Angie
