David Laurie Myra
1962-2019
It is with a profound love and loss we announce the passing of David
Laurie Myra. He passed at home with family by his side May 2,
2019.
Davy was 56 years young when he passed, born July 20, 1962. Davy
lived on top of Myra Mountain, Western Shore, in the home he built for
himself and his family.
Davy will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Michelle(Johnston);
their children Jeff (Tracy), Western Shore; Cassie Kaizer (Michael),
Windsor Rd, and his grandchildren, Jesse Smith, Allison Myra, Elijah,
Simon, Orin Kaizer.
He is the son of the late Laurie Myra and survived by this mother,
Stella(Swinamer), Western Shore; his sisters, Janet Eisnor (Darrell),
Blockhouse; Elizabeth Arsenault (Alyre), Halifax; his brother, Gordon
(Wendy), Martins Point and several nieces and nephews.
Michelle was the love of Davy’s life, as he was to her, together since
teenagers, with 36 years of marriage. They were like peas and
carrots, always together, never separated and their love multiplied
into 2 children and 5 grand-babies, which he was so very proud of.
Davy also had a love for wood and spent his life building beautiful
homes along the South Shore. He had the pleasure of finishing his
carpentry career with Sunrise Enterprises Ltd., Otto Van
Barneveld.
When Davy wasn’t working you would find him outside enjoying all
nature’s beauty with a cold beer in hand or sitting by the window
watching his birds. He will be remembered for his love for his wife,
children and grand-babies, his easy going personality, his
craftsmanship, his pride & work ethic, his love & dedication
towards birds and secretly the squirrels too, his interest in the
weather and all the little gadgets around the house to help determine
the weather, his luck for finding four leaf clovers and his loyalty to
his hockey team Boston Bruins, as he would say, “Play hard
Boys”
Special thanks to Abdella, Bruce, Glen, Otto, Palliative Care, VON,
SSRH Chemo Unit.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at
