It is with heavy hearts that the Family of Yvonne Fleming (nee Grenning) announces her sudden passing on Monday May 27, 2019 at age 64 years. Yvonne is predeceased by her parents John and Kathleen Grenning; infant children Brian and Mary Kate; mother-in-law Carmel Fleming; father-in-law Thomas Fleming; sister-in-law Barbara Fleming; brothers-in-law Robert Fleming, Terry Fleming and Larry Martin. Leaving to mourn her loving husband Brian; daughter Jill Piccott (Robert); grandchildren Luke and Joel, who always brightened her days; siblings Margie Hanley (Brian), Greg Grenning (Ann Marie), Maureen Kidney (Paul), Catherine Grenning (Noel), John Grenning (Theresa), Donna Lee (Derrick), Barry Grenning (Donna), Isabelle Quinlan (Terry) and Lisa Burton (Rod); brother-in-law Ron Fleming (Lorraine) and sisters-in law Bernice Martin, Rosemary Kavanagh and Shirley Fleming; special friends Liz Callahan and Ronnie & Diane James; and a large circle of nieces, nephews and close family and friends. In the words of her grandson, Yvonne was “a great nanny and a kind person.” She loved her family fiercely and will be greatly missed.
The Family would like to thank the amazing nurses and staff at the dialysis unit at Mount Pearl Square for their care over the last four years and staff at the St. Clare’s emergency department for their compassion. A special thank you to all of the doctors that helped take care of Yvonne over the years, especially Dr. Shik, Dr. Furey and Dr. Keating-Power.
Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, 84 Lemarchant Road on Tuesday from 7 p.m.- 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 12 noon – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Church on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. with cremation to follow. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Yvonne’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
