MAURO, Vincenzo – (Retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. Founding Member of Club Capri.) Peacefully passed at the Niagara Health System St. Catharines site, on Thursday, May 24th, 2019. Vince Mauro of St. Catharines was in his 89th year. Beloved husband to Nadia (Benincasa) for 65 years. Dear father of Carmen (Rosanne) Mauro, Peter Mauro and Fred Mauro. Loving Nonno to Vince (Caitlin) and Matthew (Nicole). Son of the late Carmine and Angelina (Ferrato) Mauro. Brother to Giuseppe (the late Eugenia) Mauro, and the late Berardo (the late Antonetta) Mauro, the late Franceso (Lina) Mauro, the late Tony (the late Helen) Mauro, the late Ida (the late Eugenio Citrigno), the late Emilia (the late Carmen Mazza), the late Agata (the late Vincenzo Turnone) and the late Teresina Mauro. Loving son-in-law to Vincenzo and Agata Benincasa. Beloved brother-in-law to Palmina (the late Giuseppe Borrelli), Eva (the late Angelo Gallo), Vanda (Enzo Grano), the late Giovanni (Clara) Benincasa, and the late Francesco (the late Antonia) Benincasa, and the late Mario Benincasa. Zio Vince will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Vince came to Canada in 1954 without much skill or ability to speak English, but he had hard work and love to build a better life for his family. Thank you to Dr. Zuliani, Nurse Babe, personal support workers Susan Boucher and Glenda Gramos for their loving care and John Henderson at Henderson’s Pharmacy. Friends and family will be received at the BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME, 2 Regent Street, Thorold, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Monday, May 27, 2019 with vigil prayers recited at 3:00 p.m. Funeral mass will take place at OUR LADY OF THE HOLY ROSARY CHURCH, 21 Queen Street South, Thorold, on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Rite of committal at Lakeview Cemetery.
