Susan Elizabeth (Forgrave) McGillivray
It is with great sadness that
we announce the peaceful passing of Susan E. McGillivray of
Mississauga Ontario at the Credit Valley Hospital on Monday May 6th
2019, at the age of 50 after a brief but courageous battle with breast
cancer.
Born in Moncton, Susan was the
daughter of Murray Forgrave (Lynne) of Apohaqui, NB and Edith Fillmore
(Arthur) of Advocate Harbour, NS. She was a graduate of
Moncton High, Sir Wilfred Laurier University in Waterloo, and The
University of Western Ontario in London, where she obtained her
Masters of Library and Information Science. She worked in
various roles at the Canadian Health Network, the University of
Toronto Libraries and the Canadian National Institute for the Blind
(CNIB) Library. Sue had a keen interest in theatre, reading,
animals, travel, hiking, cooking, and gardening. She took an
interest in others and engaged easily with them, whether old or new
acquaintances.
Susan will be sadly
missed by her loving husband and soulmate, Roy; her father Murray
Forgrave, her mother Edith Fillmore, and her stepparents Lynne Paul
and Arthur Fillmore; aunts and uncles: Laura Bezanson (David), Clemm
Larsen (Phyllis), Herdis Ferguson, Paul Forgrave (June), Bill
Forgrave, and Alberta Forgrave; several cousins; as well as many other
friends, colleagues and extended family, and her furry companion she
affectionately referred to as “Emmie
Pie.”
A time to celebrate and share
memories of Susan’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral
Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Tuesday May 28th 2019
from 4pm-6pm.
In
memory of Susan, donations to the Actors Fund of Canada (afchelps.ca)
or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Online
condolences for the family may be shared at
