In Loving Memory of
Sherry Worth (nee Whitmell)
May 22, 1960 – May 24, 2019
Sherry went to be with the Lord on the afternoon of May 24, 2019. She was not defined by her five month illness but rather she defined what it was to be a fighter and an inspiration. While Lynn may have been her middle name, her middle name truly was Grace. The grace she showed through every appointment and hospital stay was immeasurable. The grace she showed by taking difficult news in stride while continuing to positively look forward was astonishing. The grace she showed in choosing to focus on the gratitude she felt toward her family was amazing. She was so accomplished in all areas of her life but her favourite role was of loving mother to her son George. All that is wonderful about Sherry will continue to live on in this young man who loved, cherished and cared for his mother. So much of her brilliance as a mother, she learned from her own mother, Mignonne who has never been far from her side. Sherry was predeceased by her father, Ken and nephew Adam both of whom she dearly loved. Those of us who remain to keep the memory of our dear sister alive everyday include Shirley (Stan) Berlinghoff, Peggy (Robert) Berlinghoff, Bonny (David) O’Hare and Kenny (Adela) Whitmell. Each of her siblings had their own special relationship with Sherry. We learned from her, laughed with her and we were unendingly supported by her.
Sherry impacted so many lives including many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles who experienced her unwavering love and support, many old and new friends who cherished their special bond and long time clients like Agnew Peckham, Martin Wade and Pro Motion Physiotherapy who loved her for the giving, generous, and completely caring person she was.
Sherry loved to play games (may have been the country’s best Boggle player) and loved to help everyone (wrapping Christmas presents at 3:00 in the morning every Christmas Eve). Sherry was wise beyond her years. We could have used more of them but we are grateful for the light that she was in our lives for 59 years.
In keeping with Sherry’s humble nature, her wishes were not to have a wake but a simple gravesite service. It will take place on Saturday, June 1st at 4:00 pm at the Porquis Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to share this time.
