Obituary of Raymond Belkosky
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Raymond, affectionately known as “Bench”, in his 86th year. Beloved husband of the late Shirley (1995). Devoted father of Brenda. Predeceased by his parents Stanley and Catherine and his siblings Don (late Norma), Billy, Lorne (Gale) and Lorraine (Ross). He is also predeceased by his in-laws, Ian and Gladys Dodd. Brother-in-law of the late Donald (Esther), Dianna (Wilfred), Alan (Maureen) and Linda (Richard). Ray leaves behind many nieces, nephews and close friends. He will also be dearly missed by his close friends Jack and Rose Berry and special “Papa Ray” to their children Felix, Hunter and Forrest. Over the course of his life, Ray’s business ventures included owning and running a gas station, partnering in Ken-Ray Contracting and then started Benchmark Construction, which he operated until he retired. Jobs with Great Lakes, Brookfield Power, the MNR, building bridges and in various locations spanning Algoma District, putting in power lines. His morning ritual for many years was waking up and driving to Country Style Donuts where, over coffee and a carrot muffin, he would discuss world news, any local gossip and of course, trying to pick up new jobs. As per Ray’s request, there will be no funeral services. Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
You had a long prosperous life and you lived your life the way you wanted.
You are now at peace and “Bench”, you will be missed.
