Obituary for
Pamela Ann Agius (Weiss)
Peacefully, Pam (age 93) passed away on May 8, 2019, at the Civic Campus of the Ottawa General Hospital, with family at her side. She will be sadly missed by her son Tom and daughter-in-law, Micheline Courbet, daughter Gillian and son-in-law Del Atwood, grandsons Peter, Paul and Mark, dear friend Grace Hargrave and many nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by her husband Anthony (Tony), and siblings George, Margery, Marion, Karl and David Weiss. Pam was born in Winnipeg, received her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Manitoba, and worked in medical research (diagnosis of multiple sclerosis) at the Montreal Neurological Institute. She and Tony raised their family in Ottawa. Over the years, Pam enjoyed summers at the Lake, skiing and dog-walking, playing piano, reading, traveling and an endless pursuit of knowledge. She was known by all for her compassionate listening skills, patience, gracious manner and friendship, always thinking of others ahead of herself. Many thanks to the SAFE unit of the Perley and Rideau Veteran’s Health Centre and the staff at the Civic Campus of the Ottawa Hospital (A1 Geriatric Medicine Unit and Palliative Team) for their excellent care and kindness. A funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 1758 Alta Vista Drive on Saturday, May 25, at 11:00 am. Family flowers only. Donations in Pam’s memory may be sent to Action Life Ottawa, Chalice Canada, or the Ottawa Heart Institute.
