Passed peacefully away on May 27 after a short illness, Oebele Jan (John) Buffinga, aged 65. Predeceased by parents Doeke and Hinke (Tolsma) Buffinga and brother-in-law Ron Burgsma. Left heart-broken but with many cherished memories are his husband Jeff Butt and his “meiske,” daughter Henny (fiancé Andrew Ward). Also left to mourn are brother Bert (Susan), and sisters Gerda Burgsma and Grace (John) Fuerth and their families, all in Ontario, as well as parents-in-law Clarence and Elaine Butt, bro…

  1. So very saddened to hear of John’s passing. During the summer, I regularly pass his and Jeff’s summer home in Trinity Bay and have long admired the incredible work they have both done to make a spectacular garden landscape. It is the work of caring hearts and hands. My heartfelt condolences to Jeff.
