Obituary of Marjorie Stephenson
(nee Taylor)
Passed away peacefully following a stroke, surrounded by her family, on Thursday March 21, 2019. Born at Stockton-on-Tees, England, on June 11, 1932 to parents John and Elizabeth Taylor, she immigrated to Canada in 1970, residing briefly in Kincardine before moving to Oshawa, and then Hampton.
Marjorie leaves behind John, her husband of 65 years. They shared a long and fulfilling life with their four children, John (Carole), Malcolm (Angela), Elizabeth (Paul) and Matthew (Susan). She was a wonderful grandmother to Jeff, Lindsay, Kim, Andrew, Laura, Lisa, Katie, Mark, Cecilia, Grace, in addition to having four great-grandchildren (Ryan, Sydney, Kaylee, and Colin). After raising her children, Marjorie became a swimming instructor at Eastview Boys and Girls Club in Oshawa, where she made many friends. When she ended her instructing years, she continued to help organize and participate in many Eastview fundraising activities.
A Celebration of Life will be held at NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. Bowmanville, on Saturday May 11th from 2 – 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Lakeridge Health Foundation or a charity of your preference, would be appreciated.
