Obituary for Lydia Schmidt
SCHMIDT, Lydia-Passed away peacefully at Derbecker’s Heritage House in St. Jacobs on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 in her 97th year. Born July 7, 1922, she is last surviving member of her immediate family, having been predeceased by her father Joseph (1969), mother Olive (Wagler) (1981), her loving sisters Nancy Schmidt (2018) and Mary Lowden (1996), her brother John Schmidt (2009), sister-in-law Lydia Schmidt (2012) and great-nephew Tyler Schmidt (2015). Cherished aunt to her nieces and nephews and their families. We would like to thank all the staff at Derbecker’s Heritage House for their loving and excellent care received for the past three and a half years. Friends may call at the FUTHER-FRANKLIN FUNERAL HOME, 1172 Henry Street, Wellesley on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. and on Monday, May 20, 2019 from 9 a.m. till 11 a.m. at the home of Jonathan and Rosena Jantzi, 6120 Schummer Line, RR#1, Linwood. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at the home of Jonathan and Rosena Jantzi. Interment to follow in the 7th Line Amish Mennonite Cemetery. Bishop Carl Wagler officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Derbecker’s Heritage House.
