1938-2019
Surrounded by his loving family, our amazing Stewie passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 27th. Stewart was pre-deceased by his loving wife Peggy (Margaret) Whitlock, his parents Andrew & Sybil and by his brother Clifford (Barbara). He will be forever missed by his loving wife of almost 25 years, Sandra Brennan, his cherished children Gary, Brian (Andrea) and Christine (Richard) as well as his beloved step-children Craig (Sandra), Tracey (Mark) and Alana (Gabriel). Poppa will forever be adored and remembered for his love and fun by his granddaughters Carissa (Kevin), Mercedes, Maggie, Erika & Maddie and by his furry grandpups Winston, Lexie, Leo & Jax.
Stewart is also survived by his loving siblings Shirley Carmichael (late Oliver) and Jim (late Josette) as well as his many nieces and nephews (both real and honorary) and their families, whose time with Uncle Stew meant constant wrestling matches and good old fun.
Stewart and Sandra spent countless happy times with their large family and extended family of friends. Summers were spent with his cherished Tuesday and Thursday golf chums and the last 16 winters in his happy place of Panama City Beach, Florida, walking the beach and playing golf and pool. More recently, after their move from their home in Dorval, Stewart and Sandra enjoyed making new friends at the newly infamous “Le Lib” happy hours.
Stewart was a proud member of Local 89 IUEC and served them well for many years. He brought the skills he learned through his trade to his many home improvements in Crawford Park and Dorval and to all of his children’s homes.
A service to celebrate the amazing Stewart’s life will be held on Friday, May 10th at 2pm at Ste-Genevieve United Church, 4697, boul. St-Jean, DDO, H9H 2A7. Visitation will take place from 1pm-2pm prior to the service and a reception will immediately follow next door at Voluntas (514-695-7979, voluntas.ca).
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider a contribution to the West Island Palliative Care Residence (wipcr.ca).
Our love and thanks to all who have supported us over these last months. It was a wonderful journey thanks to all of you and the unbelievably caring and supportive angels at the West Island Palliative Residence (doctors, nurses, PAB’s, maintenance, kitchen, therapists and volunteers). A special thanks as well to Dr. Poulson at the Lakeshore General Hospital. You have guided us with so much peace and love and we will be forever grateful to all of you for everything you did to make Stewart’s last months truly joyous.
He loved us all. What a wonderful world indeed.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Lowson Stewart Wayne
