The death of Leonard Dominic Coleman, loving husband of Florence (Mabee) Coleman, occurred unexpectedly on May 4, 2019 at his residence. Born in Hampton, NB, he was the son of the late David and Margaret (Doherty) Coleman. He cherished his family especially his daughter Joanne.
Len was a heavy equipment operator with J. D. Irving throughout his working life. He was devout in his faith and was a member of St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Saint John. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6595.
He had a real passion for fiddle music and belonged to the Maritime Fiddlers Association. He was also a member of the Alzheimer’s Association.
He is survived by his wife Florence, his daughter Joanne, brother Gerald (Marlene), Mary Laird, Helen McPhee, his honorary grandchildren; Nicholas, Matthew and Ryan Coleman and Adam Laird. And several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers Ronald, Harold, Vernon, David and Leo Coleman and his honorary grandson Jordan Laird.
Following cremation the family will receive relatives and friends at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, on Wednesday from 3:00 until 8:00 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 am from St. Ann’s Church. Interment will take place at St. Alphonsus’ Cemetery, Hampton, at a later date. Remembrance made to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
