Passed peacefully away at Scarborough General Hospital on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, Leo Joseph Hollohan age 66 years.
Predeceased by his parents Leo and Catherine Hollohan, parents-in-law Frank and Alicia Stapleton, as well as other relatives.
He will be sadly missed by his loving and devoted wife Carol, his brothers Joe (Jean), Brendan (Brenda) and Frank; his nieces whom he loved dearly: Samantha, Allison and Meaghan; his aunt and godmother Monica Hollohan; as well as a large circle of relatives and friends.
Leo was born in St. John’s and attended Holy Cross Elementary and Brother Rice High School and pursued further education at Memorial University, University of Ottawa and University of Toronto. He was a former priest and educator and spent many years as Chaplain and teacher at St. Patrick’s Catholic High School in Toronto.
Leo was an avid traveler, a free-spirited individual who loved the sea. In retirement, cruising was his favorite pastime. He travelled the world over, setting foot on the seven continents, including Antarctica.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, on Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Sunday, June 2, 2019 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. A vigil service will be held on Sunday evening at 8 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place on Monday, June 3, 2019 at 11 a.m. from St. Patrick’s Church. Inurnment to take place at a later date. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Leo’s memory may be made to The Gathering Place.
