Obituary of Lawrence Newton
With tremendous sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Lawrence (Larry) Brian Newton, age 71, after a short but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on May 16, 2019. Loved by all who knew him. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick. Married for 51 yrs and survived by the love of his life, his first and only girlfriend Rosemary Anne (nee MacLean). Loving father to Cynthia and Scott (Odette). Treasured Grampie to Danny (Shalini), Ashley (Charlie), Kai, Nicholas (Julia), Jarritt, Ariana and Harley. Amazing Great Grampie to Naya and Alessia. Larry is survived by his parents Kenneth and Ethel. He is also survived by his brothers Ken (Linda), Steve (Rose) and Kevin (Theresa). Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, extended family and countless dear friends. At Larry’s request there will be no funeral but instead a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Donations to the Ottawa Heart Institute or Canadian Cancer Society in his honour would be greatly appreciated. Our eternal appreciation to the many doctors, nurses and support staff, at the Ottawa Heart Institute and Ottawa General Hospital, that took such great care of him especially Dr David Glineur at the Ottawa Heart Institute Civic Campus.
