Keith Charles Carr of
Geary, NB passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday
May 30, 2019 at the age of 71. Born in Fredericton, NB, he was a son
of the late Hansel and Hazel (Smith) Carr and step-son of the late
Cornelia Carr.
Keith started with
Loblaws in 1963 and saw the transition from Steinbergs to Save Easy
and finally the Atlantic Superstore, having spent the majority of his
time as the Produce Manager. Keith was instrumental in the creation of
the Rusagonis Rec Center; he also was a 4th
Degree Knight in the Knight of Columbus. He was a long standing member
of the Liberal Association of NB. Keith enjoyed hunting, fishing, was
a history buff and a nature lover. He loved his camp at the lake and
was locally famous for the dart tournaments he hosted for 25
years.
He is survived by his
loving wife of 39 years, Mavis; a daughter Trudy Whittaker (Brian) of
Lincoln, NB; grandson Aaron Forbes (Ashley Smoke) of Banff, AB;
granddaughter Victoria Forbes (MacKenzie Purdy) of Lincoln, NB;
siblings Bertha Grasse (Danny) of Geary, Edna Smith (Ken) of French
Lake, Wallace Carr (Sharon) of Geary, Gary Carr (Kitca) of Geary,
Cathy McCann (Danny) of Fredericton Junction, Harvey Carr (Katrine) of
Haneytown, NB, Tim Carr (Lisa) of Sydney, NS, Candace Hank (Danny) of
Geary, Sam Carr (Nancy) of New Maryland; several aunts, uncles,
nieces, nephews and cousins.
Resting at
Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road with visitation
being held on Monday June 3 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A funeral mass
will be held for Keith on Tuesday June 4, 2019 at 11 AM at St. Vincent
de Paul Catholic Church in Oromocto with Father Charles Udeh
SMMM and Father
John Jennings officiating. Interment will follow at the Preston Carr
Cemetery in Geary, NB.
