Katharina Weitmann, age 86, of Gadshill, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at St. Marys Memorial Hospital on May 10, 2019. Born in Lovas, Yugoslavia, daughter of the late Nikolaus and Theresa (nee Strauch) Amann. Beloved wife of the late Helmut Weitmann who predeceased her March 22, 2017. Loving mother of Marianne Patterson (John), Inge Taylor (Brian) and Irene Louwagie (Dennis). Grandmother of Lisa O’Reilly (Kevin), Tina Popp, Gregory Patterson (Kala), Andrew Patterson (Alyssa); Adam Taylor (Erin), Krista Parker (Nathan), Michael Taylor, Nicholas and Brooke Louwagie. Great-grandmother of Ella and Jake O’Reilly, Olivia Taylor, Braxton, Ruby and Leo Parker. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Katharina was predeceased by a son in infancy, son-in-law Dieter Popp, her sister Maria Mergl (Philipp), sister-in-law Hilde Stegbuchner. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Thursday, May 16, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Parish prayers at 1:45 pm. The Liturgy Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. Following the interment in Avondale Cemetery, a reception will be held in the funeral home Reception Centre.
