Joyce Anna Powell Farlow (nee Short), of Mount Forest, passed away peacefully at Rockwood Terrace, Durham on Monday, May 27th, 2019 at the age of 100. Loving wife of the late Stuart Farlow (2003). Beloved mother of Ben Farlow and his wife Wilma of Hanover, Simon Farlow and his spouse Sharon Quantz of Kitchener, and Nancy Farlow of Mount Forest. Cherished grandmother of Josh Farlow and his wife Lisa of Durham, and Kim Farlow and her spouse Nathan Leeder of Port Elgin. Great-grandmother of Austin, Ryan and Hayden Farlow, and Iden, Izyabel and Charlie Leeder. Predeceased by her brothers Desmond Short, Larry Short and Vic Short. Joyce and her family moved to Mount Forest from Toronto in 1967, purchasing the pharmacy. Joyce was active in the community and at St. Paul’s Anglican Church. Joyce loved the outdoors, golf, cross country skiing and Bridge. She continued these hobbies well into her 90’s. The family would like to express their deep thanks and appreciation to the staff at Rockwood Terrace for their care. Cremation has taken place. A private celebration of her life will be held for her family and friends. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation or Rockwood Terrace would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham.
