Obituary of James Martin
Martin, James William – Passed away peacefully at the Village on the Ridge, Ridgetown, on Monday May 13, 2019, in his 96th year. Born July 20, 1923 in Imperial Saskatchewan, to parents the late Madgell (nee Hodgkins) and Robert Martin.
Survived by his partner Jean Tscharke; his daughter Dawn Ford, son-in-law Bob Ford of Bath, Ontario; grandchildren David Ford (Allison) of Calgary, Alberta and Margaret-Anne Falconer (Matthew) of Bath, Ontario; great grandchildren Grady and Isla Ford and Aidan Falconer; sister Jean Metzger of Lacey, Washington.
Fondly remembered by his extended family Jenny and Alain Couture and their children Melanie, Sylvie, and Nick; Karin and Dave McHugh and their children Maggie and Jack; Andy Fazakas and Karen Carlson and their daughter Abby.
A WWII veteran who served overseas with the RCAF in Bomber Command. He was a member of the Church of the Advent, Ridgetown and the Ridgetown Legion Branch 243.
Predeceased by his first wife Margaret and second wife Jeri, his sisters Eileen and Esther.
Memorial visitation for Jim will be held at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main St. East, Ridgetown, on Saturday June 1, 2019 from 10 until the time of Memorial Service at 11am. A Celebration of Life will then follow at the Village on the Ridge, 9 Myrtle St. Ridgetown, from 12-2pm. Cremation has taken place with a family interment to be held in the St. John’s Anglican Cemetery, Iroquois, Ontario.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church of the Advent, Ridgetown, the Village on the Ridge Residents Council, or Ridgetown Legion Branch 243. Online condolences may be left at www.mckinlayfuneralhome.com.
