Passed peacefully away on May 8, 2019, at the Health Science Center, surrounded by laughter, tears, and love, J. Craig Power, aged 62 years.
Predeceased by his father Bill Power.
Leaving to mourn his beloved and devoted wife of 36 years and two days, Beverley (nee Hiscock), his daughters, Angela and Lauren (Brad Byrne) adored grandchildren Grady and Riley Baker, Avery and Liam Bryne. Also mourned by his mother, Maureen Power (O’Grady), brothers and sisters Michael (Liz), Coleen (Geoff Marshall), Gary (Debbie), Gillian (Tony Marx); brothers and sisters – in law Wayne (Joslyn), Randy (Pam), Debbie (Gary Power), Jim (Kelly) and an enormous circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Special thanks to paramedics, the emerg department at the Health Science, Dr. Magnusson, his neurologist, who fought so hard for him, and her team especially Dr. Chai; also many thanks to the registered nurses whose kindness, compassion and expertise gave us so much comfort during his final days. It will never be forgotten.
Craig was well respected in business and in the community, a beacon of strength and protection for his family, and always went above and beyond for anybody who was blessed to know him. He was known for his quick wit, dry humour, sarcasm, hilarious alter ego “Billy Gosse” (for which he accepted no royalties) and ability to take control and negotiate his way through almost any situation.
He spent his life working in a career he loved, travelling the world with his wife, and intimidating any man that happened to glance at his daughters. His dedication and respect for veterans was best demonstrated through his work with the Royal Canadian Legion.
Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Friday and Saturday from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Cremation to follow.
Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, May 13, 2019 from Mary Queen of Peace Church at a time to be announced. Inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
No flowers by request. At Craig’s request donations may be made to the RCL, Branch 1, Blackmarsh Road. At his family’s request, please donate blood if you are able.
“All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before. How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!”
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of J Craig Power 2019..
