Irene Fraser (nee Bruce)
1927-2019
The peaceful
passing of Irene Bruce Fraser age 92 of Montague devoted wife of the
late Lloyd Fraser occurred at Kings County Memorial Hospital on
Thursday, May 9, 2019.Born on April 25, 1927, daughter of the late
Willie and Mary Bruce. Irene is survived by her loving children, Faye
(Doug Zinck) Halifax, Dawn McCormick, Halifax, Marlene (Mike
Lawrence), Summerside; cherished grandchildren Axel Lawrence,
Wolfville, NS and Jesse Lawrence, Summerside. She was predeceased by a
sister Olive and son-in-law Danny McCormick.
Irene received her education in local schools and
Prince of Wales College and served over thirty years in the teaching
profession. This did not prevent her from volunteering in church and
community. She could be found involved as organist for church, funeral
home and nursing homes, also as K.C.M.H. Auxiliary. She
considered it a privilege to meet a number of interesting people when
she served as Provincial President of Hospital Auxiliary and U.C.W.
Resting at Ferguson Logan Funeral Home with visiting
hours Monday, May 13 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral to take
place in the Funeral Home chapel on Tuesday, May 14 at 11:00 am.
Interment to take place in the Valleyfield Cemetery. Family flowers
only. Donations to Valleyfield Cemetery, K.C.M.H., or Meals-on-Wheels,
if desired, would be appreciated.
