1940-2019
Irene Bessie Bishop – age 79, of Wolfville, formerly of
Kentville, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019 in the Wolfville Nursing
Home. Born in South Branch, Colchester County, she was a daughter of
the late William Millen, Harriet (Tree) and step father Ted Wilson.
Irene had been employed at the Wolfville Nursing Home until her
retirement. She enjoyed camping, bingo and crafts. She is survived by
daughters, Debbie, New Minas; Nancy (John) Sherman, Steam Mill; sons,
Ronald (Marle), Canaan; Gary (Gina), New Minas; seven grandchildren,
Jeremy, Justin, Jamie, Mitchell, Lacey, Jeffrey, Brittany; three great
grandchildren; sister, Kate (Alan) Castle, Ontario; brother, Tim
(Grace) Millen, Ontario; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by
her husband, Hubert; son, Bruce; sisters, Helen and Biney; brothers,
Warren, Hedley and Earl. Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral
service at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019 in the White Family
Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. Burial
will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in
memory may be made to Diabetes Canada – Nova Scotia and
Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia. Funeral arrangements
have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation
Services, Kentville.
